Traditional bathroom, seen from bedroom

Art direction of 3D design of two bathroom styles

As the Art Director, I was pleased to oversee this 3D project for IKEA. It was launched on ikea.com and across social media, showcasing two bathroom styles: one traditional and one contemporary, designed for compact living. Using 3D technology offers many benefits, such as simplifying production and reducing costs.

To ensure the scenes felt realistic, we carefully considered all production elements: mood boards, lighting, textures, and storytelling. We also added minor imperfections to make the images more believable. The images presenting the traditional design, featuring soft grey tones, were inspired by the paintings of Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøj.
